Philadelphia Real Estate Blog – Philly Christmas VillageChristmas Village, a festive, outdoor Christmas themed marketplace typically held in Dilworth Plaza, will be held at JFK Plaza in 2011. And no, Occupy Philadelphia has nothing to do with the change in venue. Christmas Village got some negative press last year when an event organizer removed the word “Christmas” from the entrance of the village. “Christmas” was removed after Managing Director Richard Negrin told the organizer that he had received complaints from residents and city workers however Mayor Nutter promptly ordered “Christmas” be put back up.

The Christmas Village in Philadelphia is an outside Christmas market event at the Love Park in Philadelphia (JFK Plaza at 1500 Arch Street between North 15th and 16th Street). This event takes place from Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve (Nov. 24th – Dec. 24th). There are more than 50 wooden booths, in which vendors will sell European food, sweets and drinks. They will also sell international holiday ornaments, jewelry and high-quality arts and crafts.
