Vegan Restaurant Coming to Rittenhouse Square

Michael Klein reports that Nicole Marquis, former manager of vegan restaurant Horizons, plans to open a new vegan restaurant at 127 South 18th street in Rittenhouse Square in early 2012.   So far the new restaurant remains unnamed.  The space formerly housed the Pad Thai Shack and is in the same general area as 10Rittenhouse, the new luxury Rittenhouse Square condos, and Tria, Serafina, a.kitchen, and Franklin Mortgage and Invesment Co.  If this new restaurant is anything like Horizons it is sure to be one of the best Vegan restaurants in Center City from the day it opens its doors.

Rittenhouse Square Real Estate

Rittenhouse Square is one of the five original open-space parks planned for Center City, Philadelphia by William Penn and his surveyor Thomas Holme during the late 17th century.   The Rittenhouse Square neighborhood boundaries, for real estate purposes, are Broad Street to the East, Market Street. to the North, South Street to the South, and 22nd Street to the West.  Rittenhouse Square was originally called Southwest Square and was later renamed to honor David Rittenhouse, a prominent Philadelphia clockmaker and astronomer.
