No Tigers Allowed In Elin Nordegren’s New Nest

Former model (and erstwhile Mrs. Tiger Woods) Elin Nordegren is putting her $100 million divorce settlement to good use. According to sources, she just finished construction on a stunning, nine-bedroom abode in North Palm Beach, Florida. Proving that there’s no revenge quite like living well, Nordegren has splashed out on an outstanding pad fit for a queen… or the ex-wife of a philandering golf superstar, anyway.

The home’s plans were leaked online, and the home’s amenities sound like a laundry list of normal expectations… for an over-the-top millionaire. There’s two kitchens, a swimming pool with attached grotto, a wine cellar, and no fewer than three guest bungalows. There’s also a theater, a cabana, two bunkers… and a miniature golf course and putting green. With 21,000 square feet, there’s little chance that Elin will lack for room to entertain. The crowning glory is a rooftop terrace with stunning views of the beach.

Here’s where the story gets interesting: the home bears more than just a passing resemblance to the 90-year-old manse that Nordegren bought for $12 million back in early 2012 and then immediately razed. In fact, it’s said that they are exactly the same house, minus the fact that the new one is slightly bigger and has better, more modern amenities. It’s also built up to current hurricane code, which couldn’t be said about the 1920s version. Before she tore the historic home down, Nordegren allowed Habitat for Humanity to come in and strip any fixtures that might be valuable or useful.

Nordegren has been living a fairly private life since 2010, when her divorce from Tiger Woods was finalized. Woods’ reputation took a beating when it was discovered that he’d been cheating on Nordegren, the mother of his two young children. Whatever she chooses to do going forward, it’s at least a guarantee that she has a lovely place to rest her head at the end of the day!
