Bella Vista History
Bella Vista, Italian for “beautiful sight”, is a neighborhood in Center City, Philadelphia, Bella Vista is home to the Italian Market and the Meredith School. Formerly considered part of South Philadelphia, Bella Vista was the first neighborhood settled by Italian immigrants in Philadelphia, and it continues to be one of Philadelphia’s Italian American neighborhoods. Many consider Bella Vista to be the brunch capital of Center City because of the best of Philly brunch stops like Sabrina’s Cafe, Sam’s Morning Glory and The Fitzwater Cafe.
Bella Vista Boundaries
Bella Vista’s boundaries, for real estate purposes are South Street to the North, Washington Avenue to the South, 6th Street to the East, and 11th Street to the West.
